I had to dig in (based on the title) to realize this was emulating or stubbing out the Cloud providers logging interface. I was thinking this was a replacement for Azure Stack Hub SDK or ASDK.

Quite oposite! Microsof is the only cloud provider that publicly releases their cloud binaries. You can run cloud version of MSSQL on your local workstation, without any emulation.

Are the hundreds of agents running the infra still a thing?
Do we know what they do and how they do it?

Perhaps worth noting, perhaps not, but "floci" is a vulgar word in Romanian, perhaps not the best branding one could choose (seeing as there are quite a few Romanians in software development).

Git is a vulgar word in British English too, doesn’t seem to have prevented successful commercial adoption of Github, Gitlab or git itself.
Despite being less vulgar than “fuck”, the use of this word can get you excluded from school.

That was interesting and I looked it up, because it's also used as a vulgar word in Greek.
Apparently the Greek word is a loanword from Romanian (which got it from Latin), but what's more interesting is that although we both use it in the literal sense (a tuft or lock of hair, wool, or soft fibers), as a vulgarity we have assigned different meanings: In colloquial Romanian, floci is widely used as a slang term for pubic hair, while in colloquial Greek, floki means semen.

I don't think IT has the same marketing requirements or stringent name vetting policies found for example in pharma, or car industry (Mitsubishi Pajero vs. Montero in Spain comes to mind [0]). After a quick internet search looks like "floci" is colloquially the word for "pubes" which doesn't sound really vulgar, more impolite?
